The Authority Site Center Philosophy

Successful Websites Have a Human Element

AS an ASC member you have incredible tools at your disposal for building feature rich, deep content sites that search engines and visitors respect and love. Since the beginning of this venture, we have been dead set against a cookie-cutter system where members could crank out low quality sites.

That is being done elsewhere and it is failing the majority of people who are using those systems. Search engines hate sites created totally by software, and common sense shows they ALWAYS will.

That is why we started out with the unique position, before anyone else during the heyday of cookie-cutter, easy Adsense money, that only real content sites would rule on the net long term. And the only way to build those sites is by “software assisted” design and automation.

We are not against software or tools that make our lives easier as content site publishers. But we know that to succeed there has to be a human involved in each site they build to more of a degree than simple keyword research and purchasing hosting and a domain.

Putting the human element into the authority site building process is the key to longevity in the content site publishing industry.

It's far more powerful to have 10 quality sites pulling in $30 per day forever than it is to have 1000 sites pulling in a dollar a day for a few months.

It is an even greater thing to have one authority site pulling in $5000-$10,000+ per month than it is to manage a big group of lesser performing, lower traffic sites.

Having a manageable network of content sites allows the publisher to promote each site individually with far greater diversity in traffic.

You can get stable traffic coming in from multiple sites with multiple linking and promotion methods, not just the engines. So you can handle it if Google drops you for no good reason as it did with exemplary content sites in 2006.

Value Trumps Waste!

John Reese backs us up on this one. His recent report along with hundreds of testimonials from our members and other bloggers who know first hand what quality over quantity has done for them in terms of traffic and profits are proof positive that this is no theory.

We want people to start off with modest goals and concrete, bullet-proof site building tactics that will give them the ability to KEEP what they build as long as they want, along with the income they produce.

The 10 site / $30 per site / per day goal (the “10-30” goal) is what we started with and what we still encourage people to go for unless they are working on one big authority site. This is what Jack does at the Friday Traffic Report.

With the 10-30 method you may have to build 20 sites to find the 10 winners, but that is a far cry from having to live on the edge and go deep into pocket to build a massive software-created network of spam sites just to lose it all someday.

Most people are not big risk takers. This is why it is so hard to understand why so many people are so eager to get into a business that is fraught with risk! (The build-a-hundred-sites-a-month business.)

Go to any forum to see examples of this in the last year. The post usually starts with “What happened to all my sites????” or “Google Sucks!”

Google may or may not “suck.” That’s pretty much a value in the eye of the beholder issue. What sucks is that people read Google’s terms of service and ignore it completely. THEN they rant in the forums about how bad Google treated them in the last update. It’s not like they didn’t tell us what they like to index and what they won’t index.

You will learn a lot about what Google likes to index here at ASC. Rest assured, the way we train you to build content and the platform you build it on are both optimized for Google in a “white hat” fashion. Nothing you do at ASC will get you into trouble with the Big G.

What You Build At ASC, You Keep

Experienced business people know that you do not go into a venture or investment without having some reasonable expectation that you are going to gain as much as possible for as long as possible from your efforts.

This is why there are so many failures on the web. Regular people find themselves making crazy decisions based on hearsay and unproven, unverifiable information.

It is in our nature to occasionally succumb to a touch of greed. It is how we keep it in check while we are making business decisions that determine success or failure.

Part of becoming more mature as a business person, in this case an authority site publisher, is settling on a methodology that keeps your business safe from massive risk. That methodology has to be founded in concrete, proven tactics for publishing that will keep your business growing and thriving in the LONG TERM.

And that methodology HAS to use tactics that most people are unwilling to learn.

Why?

Because people who work harder and smarter always beat everyone else in this game. If there is work involved, you can be sure that the lightweights will have nothing to do with it and your competition drops off massively in the bargain. Now you are dealing only with other working people on the web.

With the ASC system a lot of the work everyone else is doing by hand is handled by (assisted by) software and a publishing platform that carries a lot of the heavy load.

Most of your work will consist of content development and marketing. The technical stuff has been minimized as much as is possible so you can focus on the work that gets you results.

Why You Have To Work To Succeed

We have been approached by many members on the verge of leaving who plead for a single, simple site building system.

We responded with the system you are using now whereby the software and initial design (the technical stuff) is done for you.

While we agree that there is always room to make many of the things we do as content site publishers easier, and we are developing user friendliness into everything we do as a result of member input and feedback, we are never going to create a system that churns out mush.

Think about it this way: How could any ethically run business charge you as much as we do per month to use software or tactics that are only going to get you in trouble down the road?

We can’t.

Too much software automation equals sites that will go nowhere in the engines or with visitors who will never come back if they find such a site in the first place.

It goes against the very reason people sign up here in the first place.

People who read the sales letter are buying their memberships here based on the philosophy that, while we give you tools to build sites with software assistance, we will never get into the game of “one-size-fits-all.”

Your ideas, your work, your content have to come from you and you alone.

This is how we are all able to score to high in the engines: our content and our ideas are unique to our sites.

The Key Ingredient for Authority Site Success

The missing ingredient of a floundering site is originality in most cases.

This is why we don’t over stress the use of our automated content posting tool because we don’t want people thinking it should be used to fill their whole site with supplemental content without having to write or have written a great deal of original, thoughtful content.

This is also why it is impossible to build and maintain a large number of sites. Every authority site on the web takes work to maintain and keep current.

And “current” is the name of the game with the new social, Web 2.0 internet. If your site goes flat, it dies. If it only has content found elsewhere on the web, it dies.

Owning an authority site is profitable, but it is like caring for a shark. You have to keep it moving. It can never stop moving forward or it will die.

This means that you MUST have the business maturity to understand that faster is not better. That “easy” never translates into profits you can expect long term.

Speed kills and easy means anyone could do it! Therefore, tools that build automatic sites with no work on the part of a real human being are dead from the start.

Professionalism and business savvy dictates that all Authority Site Center members recognize that the person who succeeds in this business is the person who works harder and has the discipline to learn their craft better than their competition.

Donald Trump and Steve Jobs will tell you the exact same thing.

You have to have the freedom to be innovative in your niche. Cookie-cutter solutions for building sites take away that freedom. No one will ever crack the big time with a spam site – ever. The only true long term success stories on the web have evolved out of hard work, determination, and individual creativity and input.

While working on your publishing empire under this philosophy may be harder for you at first that just means you are doing something right. When you shut down your computer for the night after viewing your latest, high-quality content site that may have taken you a whole weekend to customize to your liking, you know you have just done something worthwhile and good.

Good for your business and good for your own personal satisfaction and sense of purpose. Good for your future and the future of your family.

Something solid that no one can take from you because it based upon sound principles that will ensure it grows and stays current and profitable.

The only way to achieve this feeling is after you have gone through a learning curve few others are willing to go through and work harder than most people are willing to work.

Much of the “secret” everyone is looking for on the web is right there in the last sentence. You’ve discovered what everyone is frantically chasing down. It isn’t fancy, the clouds did not part when you read it, nor did you faint from realizing the “big key” to unlimited success online.

Isn’t that how most realizations work though? Rather than smacking you on the head and knocking you down, the most powerful realizations are very often so subtle they risk going unnoticed by the majority.

This realization sure has gone under the radar of most people wanting to find the key to the kingdom in online business.

Don’t let it pass YOU by. The traits shared by every successful online business owner without exception are due diligence, hard work, willingness to learn, and application of what they’ve learned.

If You Make This YOUR Philosophy, You Will Win!

Now you are armed with something that will serve you well in any business. A lot of this stuff is not new to seasoned marketers and shouldn’t be new to anyone who went to business school.

Most of the problems on the web with scammy “opportunities” are that they are so appealing only to those who don’t have a lick of business experience. Which most of us did not have when we started out on the internet. Hence the great big vacuum in common sense on the web when it comes to people choosing what to do.

We had to learn the hard way. I am hoping that you will take my word for it rather than repeating my early internet mistakes. Either way, the “lecture” part of this guide has been a long time coming from me and it should help a lot of people understand what it is that separates them from their goals.

I think you will be fine, because you are at least reading this. If none of this rings true, there is nothing else I can say to help you. What the Staff and Partners Are Willing To Do We are incredibly committed to your success. We want to give you every single tool and all the training it will take for you to succeed in this industry. We have come a long way, but we haven’t reached all the goals we have for the membership yet.

We made a pact with members in the beginning to blow them away with a level of dedication to this membership that is unheard of on the rest of the web. And we have not forgotten that pact.

In fact, long-time members have seen us playing a sort of game to see how far we can push the value of this membership week to week and month to month.

All we need from you is feedback and comments that will help us make your life as a content site publisher easier and more profitable. We do listen to every suggestion and we learn a lot from members’ questions about the tools and training provided.
