Press releases are not articles and they are not advertisements.
They are designed to cover something topical about your industry while pointing back to your site as the authority on the topic.
Press releases, like articles, should be well planned and not just thrown together so you can have something to submit!
Study up on How to Write an Effective Press Release before using PRWeb (as described below), so you get every ounce of value from doing a proper release.
We highly recommend that you use the PRWeb “PRWeb Direct” press release syndication service over their free or donation-based service. You'll get far more reach this way.
Sign up for an account at PRWeb and read their guidelines for creating releases.
Make sure you make a press release category on your blog and post each of your press releases there.
Mention something about it in your next post and use the trackback feature at PRWeb to get a link to your blog from where your press release resides on PRWeb.
Social market the permanent page on PRWeb where the release resides. You can StumbleUpon it and bookmark it in all the bookmarking services.
Ask fellow bloggers here in your same niche to consider doing a mention within a post and also doing a trackback to it.
As always, treat important off-site pages - your satellite content - like your own site and spend time linking to them to increase their link popularity, thereby getting a stronger link back to your site while raising the views of those types of pages in the meantime.
